Os conflitos entre alunos e professores

Abstract

Os conflitos nas instituições podem adquirir um caráter saudável, se fruto de discussão interpares e de uma considerável massa crítica. Na escola, a questão é ainda mais premente e relevante. É nesta instituição, base da sociedade e da socialização, onde se concentra o maior grupo profissional do país – o corpo docente – que tem como missão educar um ainda mais vasto grupo social – os alunos. Neste mundo académico convivem várias gerações, modeladas por vários tipos de formação e educação, cada geração com o cunho próprio dos vários governos que constantemente alteram currículos e formas de funcionamento das escolas, remodelam e reformam os vários aspetos da vida social e académica das escolas. Por conseguinte, é o local mais natural para existirem conflitos intergeracionais, académicos, sociais e políticos, porque a educação é uma área política por excelência. É relevante que os professores conheçam a realidade para melhor poderem intervir. Com base num estudo de caso numa escola secundária pública da cidade de Setúbal pretendemos identificar que fatores podem originar conflitos na sala de aula entre alunos e professores, conhecer que tipos de conflitos existem entre alunos e professores de turmas de 9ºAno, que perceção desses conflitos possuem esses alunos e como são resolvidos esses conflitos. A metodologia consistiu na utilização de inquéritos a alunos de cinco turmas de 9ºAno (caráter quantitativo), a uma entrevista ao coordenador do gabinete de intervenção disciplinar da escola (caráter qualitativo) e no tratamento de dados de documentos oficiais da escola – desde 2009 até final do primeiro período de 2013/2014. Os resultados demonstram que a maioria dos alunos reconhece a existência de conflitos entre alunos e professores. É significativo o número de alunos que identifica o facto de professores não terem as aulas bem preparadas como fonte de conflitos na sala de aula, assim como passar bem a mensagem e estar motivado em lecionar a turma.

The conflicts in institutions can acquire a healthy character if they are consequence of discussion between pairs and of a considerable critical mass. At school, the question is more prominent and relevant. It is in this institution, basis of the society and socialization, where the largest professional group of the country – the teachers – is concentrated with the mission of educating an even larger social group – the students. In this academic world several generations live together. They are modelled by several types of formation and education, each generation with the specific character of the governments that constantly change curricula and the ways schools work. They change and reshape the various aspects of the social and academic life of schools. Therefore, schools are the most natural place for the existence of intergenerational, academic, social and political conflicts, because education is a political area for excellence. It is relevant that the teachers know the reality so that they can have a better intervention. Based on a study case of a public secondary school in the city of Setúbal we intend to identify which facts can originate the conflicts in the classroom between students and teachers, to know which type of conflicts there are between students of the 9th form and teachers, which perception of those conflicts those students have and how those conflicts are solved. The methodology consisted in the use of enquiries to students of five classes of the 9th form (quantitative character), an interview to the coordinator of the discipline intervention cabinet (qualitative character) and the data processing of official school documents since 2009 until the first term of 2013/2014. The results show that the majority of students recognize the existence of conflicts between students and teachers. It is significant the number of students who identify as a source of conflicts in the classroom the fact that teachers do not have the lessons well prepared, the messages are not well passed and the fact that teachers are not motivated to teach the class.
