A imigração luso-brasileira na Alemanha : a mediação intercultural no ensino de português língua estrangeira enquanto estratégia de integração social

Abstract

Na gestão de choques culturais oriundos da diversidade do mundo globalizado, acreditamos que o ensino de línguas estrangeiras possa exercer uma função significativa em contextos multiculturais complexos como a sociedade alemã atual. Para tanto, partimos do pressuposto de que ensinar língua é ensinar cultura, do mesmo modo que circunscrevemo-nos à imigração luso-brasileira na Alemanha e ao ensino-aprendizado de língua portuguesa não materna. Alicerçado por quadros teóricos desenvolvidos no âmbito da investigação nas áreas de comunicação intercultural, o presente estudo pretende, pois, lançar um olhar sobre o ensino de línguas estrangeiras no que diz respeito à integração social. Assim, foram relacionados aspectos linguísticos e culturais, os quais são capazes de conferir um caráter ainda mais humanitário à atuação do professor de línguas, reconhecido aqui como mediador.

For a better management of cultural shocks originated from the diversity of the globalized world, we believe that language teaching can have a significant role in complex multicultural contexts such as the current German society. In this way, we assume that teaching languages is teaching cultures, in the same way we delimit our scope by means of the Luso-Brazilian immigration in Germany and the Portuguese teaching as a foreign language. Supported by the theoretical frames developed by the research in the intercultural communication area, the present study intends thus to analyse the contribution of foreign language teaching to social integration. Therefore, linguistic and cultural aspects were related, being able to provide even more humanitarian attributes to the work of a language teacher, here recognized as a mediator.
