A obra de Alves Redol para crianças

Abstract

O principal objectivo desta dissertação consistiu em fazer uma análise mais aprofundada da obra para crianças e jovens de Alves Redol, uma área que se tem mantido na penumbra, no conjunto dos títulos escritos pelo romancista. O trabalho foi dividido em três partes: na primeira parte desenvolvemos a contextualização do escritor na sua época, com uma breve abordagem à temática do neo-realismo e às várias obras do autor; na segunda parte apresentamos, de uma forma mais sucinta, a literatura para crianças no tempo de Alves Redol, numa época de grande controle ideológico com reflexos no ensino e na cultura; na última parte fazemos uma análise textual dos livros que o romancista escreveu para crianças e jovens, destacando os aspectos lúdicos, didácticos e pedagógicos, o legado cultural, as vivências rurais, alguns valores, comportamentos e atitudes das personagens, presentes nessas obras. O estudo permitiu ainda compreender possíveis interligações existentes entre os textos que o escritor escreveu para crianças e jovens e os livros para adultos, tendo por base aspectos políticos, sociais, educacionais e culturais dominantes na época em que Alves Redol viveu e escreveu – o Estado Novo

The main purpose of this dissertation consists of analysing Alves Redol’s written work for children and young, an area of his work that has not been worked yet. The written work was divided in three parts: in the first part we develop a contextualization of the writer as a man of his time, with a short approach to the neo-realism topic and the various books he wrote; in the second part we introduce, in a succinct way, a perspective of children’s literature in a specific period of time, the one in which Alves Redol wrote, a time of ideological control with consequences in education and culture; in the last part of the work we analyse the novelist’s written work for children and young, detaching the entertaining, didactic and pedagogical aspects, and also cultural legacy, experiences people lived in the rural country, some values, behaviour and attitudes of the characters, that appear in the books he wrote for children and young. The study allowed an understanding of the possible interconnection that may exist between the stories the writer wrote for children and young and the books he wrote for adults, with reference to political principles, the social, educational and cultural aspects that prevailed during the time Alves Redol lived and wrote
