A Natureza da reorganização do pensamento em um curso a distância sobre tendências em educação matemática

Abstract

Neste trabalho investigo a natureza da reorganização do pensamento em um curso de extensão a distância sobre Tendências em Educação Matemática, cujo modelo comunicacional combina a utilização de chat, home-page, lista de discussão e correio eletrônicos permitindo o estabelecimento de interações síncronas e assíncronas. Entendo que a reorganização do pensamento, proposta do Tikhomirov (1981), se dá em função das possibilidades oferecidas por uma certa configuração de tecnologias, que provoca modificações nas normas do saber. Estas modificações, no caso da análise do curso a distância, estão relacionadas à organização não linear dos diálogos e debates, à necessidade de atribuição de sentido e interpretação, à extensão da imaginação e da percepção, à velocidade das interações, à possibilidade de comunicação em rede, ao estabelecimento de um novo referencial espaço-temporal, e à construção de um espaço de significação caracterizado pelo trabalho coletivo. Estas possibilidades permitiram a construção de um coletivo inteligente, ou seja, o funcionamento de um grupo em inteligência coletiva. Neste caso, a Educação Matemática foi o veículo para a formação desse coletivo, capaz de superar os constrangimentos colocados ou os limites impostos pela separação física.

In this study, I investigate the nature of the reorganization of thinking in a university extension distance education course entitled Trends in Mathematics Education, whose communication model combined the use of computer chat, a home-page, a discussion list, and e-mail, allowing the establishment of synchronic and a-synchronic interactions. In my understanding, the reorganization of thinking, as proposed by Tikhomirov (1981), is a function of the possibilities offered by a given configuration of technologies which provoke modifications in the norms of knowing. These modifications, in the case of the analysis of the distance education course, are related to the non-linear organization of the dialogues and debates, the need to interpret and attribute meaning, the extension of imagination and perception, the speed of the interactions, the possibility of communication in a network, the establishment of a new spatial-temporal reference, and the construction of a space for collective meaning-making. These possibilities allowed the construction of an intelligent collective; in other words, they made possible the functioning of a group in collective intelligence. In this case, mathematics education was the vehicle for the formation of the collective, which was able to overcome the constraints or limits imposed by the physical separation.
