- O restauro das pinturas da cúpula da Igreja de São Carlos Borromeu de Viena foi iniciado em 2000, financiado pela Associação de Amigos e Benfeitores da Igreja de São Carlos, com a instalação de um elevador panorâmico (que deveria ter sido retirado ao final dos trabalhos, em 2009, mas que por opção da Arquidiocese de Viena, permanece à disposição dos visitantes até hoje). O elevador sobe até um patamar a 32,5 m do solo, de onde é possível ter uma visão privilegiada do afresco restaurado.
- Quando a cidade de Viena foi atingida pela Peste Negra, em 1713, o Imperador Carlos VI Habsburgo (1685-1740) prometeu construir uma igreja caso a doença fosse erradicada. Atendido, a construção começou em 1716, a partir do projeto de Johann Bernhard Fisher Von Erlach (entre 1716 e 1722) e completada por seu filho, Joseph Emanuel (entre 1723-1737). As pinturas da cúpula, afrescos que totalizam quase 1.260 m², foram realizadas por Johann Michael Rottmayr (1656-1730) entre 1725 e 1730 e representam São Carlos Borromeu, junto à Virgem Maria, intercedendo pela cidade à Deus, ladeados pela representação das virtudes da fé, esperança e do amor, além das figuras alegóricas da religião e da misericórdia.

- The restoration of the paintings of the dome of Saint Charles Borromeo Church in Vienna started in 2000 and it was financed by the Association of Friends and Benefactors of Saint Charles Church. A panoramic lift was installed for the restoration and should have been removed in 2009 at the end of the works, but by the decision of the Archdiocese of Vienna, has been left for the use of visitors. When the city of Vienna was hit by the black plague, 1713, the emperor Charles VI Habsburg (1685-1740) promised to build a church if the disease was eradicated. The construction of the church began in 1716 based on the project of Johann Bernhard Fisher Von Erlach (between 1716 and 1722) and then was completed by his son, Joseph Emanuel (between 1723 and 1737). The paintings of the dome, frescos that totalizes almost 1260m², were produced by Johann Michael Rottmayr (1656-1730) between 1725 and 1730. They represent Saint Charles Borromeo together with the Holy Mary.
