O tempo e o espaço da alimentação no centro da metrópole paulista

Abstract

Este trabalho discute o comportamento do comércio de alimentação no centro da metrópole, refletindo sobre as novas relações espaço-tempo. Analisa as novas formas de consumo de alimentação na vida cotidiana, geradas a partir do ingresso maciço da mulher no mercado de trabalho e de suas novas necessidades. Desenvolve uma análise da sociedade produtivista, onde o consumo de alimentação muda radicalmente, pois o tempo escasso e altamente quantitativo faz surgir novos hábitos. O fast food é avaliado como instrumento de apoio ao desenvolvimento desta sociedade, onde o comércio vai encontrando condições de desenvolvimento através da criação de diferentes estratégias de reprodução. O comércio informal faz surgir áreas complexas e conflituosas, mas que possibilitam o atendimento das necessidades de parte da população que vive, transita ou trabalha no centro. This work aims at discussing the behavior of the feeding trade in the center of the metropolis, thinking over the new space-time relations. It analyzes the new forms of feeding consumption in the daily life, brought about by the women's massive entrance in the labor market and of their new needs. It develops an analysis of the productive society , where the feeding consumption changes radically , because the scarce and highly quantitative time generates new habits. The fast food is rated as being a supporting instrument to the development of this society, where the trade finds conditions for the development through the creation of different strategies for reproduction. The informal trade leads to the creation of complex and conflicting areas, but which facilitate the assistance to the part of the population that lives, visits or works in the downtown area.
