Abstract

This research analyzes the origin of Welfare State, from the Report by William Beveridge. At the end of Second World War, the concern about citizenship rescue spread the idea of Social Welfare State. The British influence, also represented by the Beveridge Report, is of great importance in this process. Thus, analyzing the Beveridge Plan, which proposed a set of reforms within the social security system, along with its contributions to the emergence of British Welfare State, is crucial to a more complete historical parameter on the subject of the Protector State. The goal of this study is to clarify the influence of the Beveridge Report in the practical organization of the Welfare system in England

Esta pesquisa analisa a origem do Regime de Welfare State, a partir do trabalho realizado pelo economista britânico William Beveridge (1879-1963). Muitos foram os motivos que culminaram na disseminação do Estado de Bem-Estar Social ao final da Segunda Guerra Mundial. A influência inglesa, também representada pelo Relatório Beveridge, teve neste processo grande importância. Assim, analisar o Plano Beveridge, que propôs de maneira concreta diversas reformas no âmbito da seguridade social, juntamente com suas contribuições para o surgimento do Welfare State inglês, é crucial para termos um parâmetro histórico mais completo sobre a temática do Estado Protetor e do tipo de sociedade dele advinda, esclarecendo o grau de influência do Relatório nas políticas públicas implementadas na Inglaterra
