A presente pesquisa Os Vilelas: a ilustração do caipira na modernidade busca a identidade do caipira representada por duas capas de compact disc (CD) de Ivan Vilela, Paisagens (1998) e Dez Cordas (2007). O primeiro com músicas autorais e o segundo com releituras. Ambas ilustradas pelo artista plástico Fernando Vilela. As capas, numa simbiose com a cultura caipira e seu comportamento tradicional, mostram relevância ao constituírem um paralelo com a atual sociedade e seu dia-a-dia
