Conexão cultura: um projeto de revitalização e reestruturação da estação ferroviária de Guaratinguetá

Abstract

This work presents an intervention at the Guaratinguetá Railway Station and its surroundings, including this area in the urban context, at this moment isolated of the activities and citizen attentions, offering new activities on this commercial area. The selected area finds itself in a state of neglect and forgetfulness from the urban relations. Located between the periphery of the commercial center and the Paraiba do Sul River, the correlation is tension between the advancement of shops, the railway line, and the natural barrier of the Paraiba River. On the context of these limits, the railroad and the river stand as barriers for the center expansion and the flows that connect the old part of the town with the new part, which is growing and is called “post-city river”. These barriers have relegating properties around them to isolation, despite being located in the center. The area choice and this intervention seeks to break this isolation and the barrier flow, linking areas of opposite sides to form a leak through the barrier of the railway line. The pedestrian flow is prioritized in the project, this flow will be attracted by the program offered and by the new created areas, increasing the space utilization by users and breaking the isolation of urban activities. And entering the area in the context of life of city residents. The attraction of these new flows will be through the implementation of a Cultural Center, supplying a lack of city by spaces that offer this type of activity. Its implementation aims to attract and modify the activities of these spaces and the surrounding areas, one side facing the commercial center, and another facing the river, linking this two sides at the same time that this link provides the expansion of distance traveled and known

Este trabalho apresenta uma intervenção na Estação Ferroviária de Guaratinguetá e seu entorno, inserindo esta área, atualmente isolada das atividades e atenções dos cidadãos, no contexto urbano do município e diversificando o uso do centro comercial onde ela se localiza. A área selecionada encontra-se em um estado de relativo abandono e esquecimento nas relações urbanas. Localizada entre a periferia do centro comercial e a borda do rio Paraíba do Sul, a relação estabelecida é de tensão entre o avanço dos estabelecimentos comerciais, a linha férrea, e, paralelamente, a barreira natural do rio Paraíba. Sobre o contexto desses limites, a estrada de ferro e o rio se apresentam como barreiras de expansão do centro e dos fluxos que ligam a parte antiga do município com o lado de crescimento da cidade, chamada de “cidade pósrio”. Essas barreiras acabam relegando os estabelecimentos ao seu redor a um isolamento, apesar de estarem localizados no centro. A escolha da área e sua intervenção visam quebrar esse estado de isolamento e essa barreira de fluxos, unindo áreas de “lados opostos” para formar um escape através da barreira linear da linha férrea. O tipo de fluxo priorizado no projeto é o de pedestres, fluxo que será atraído pelos espaços propostos e o programa oferecido nas instalações, aumentando, dessa forma, a utilização do espaço por usuários e quebrando esse isolamento das atividades urbanas. E assim, inserindo a área no contexto de vida dos moradores da cidade. A atração desses novos fluxos se dará através da implantação de um Centro Cultural, suprindo uma carência da cidade por espaços que ofereçam esse tipo de atividade. Sua implantação visa atrair e modificar as atividades desses espaços e seus entornos, um lado voltado para o centro comercial, e outro para o rio, unindo os dois lados ao mesmo tempo em que esta ligação proporciona a expansão do espaço percorrido e conhecido
