Aspectos culturais como fios condutores de interações em Tandem na aprendizagem de português língua estrangeira: interculturalidade, estereótipos e identidade(s)

Abstract

Able to allow several studies on the exchange of information about a foreign language, the modality of teaching and learning tandem is a partnership between people who want to learn from each other. It involves pairs of competent native speakers who have contact with the knowledge of the others, learning the skill of the partner while helping others learn the skill which is proficient in, through bilingual chat sessions (TELLES, 2009). This study presents data collected from interactions in tandem between a foreign student and a Brazilian one. The central aim of this research is to analyze to what extent the tandem mode favors the inclusion of learning cultural aspects of a target language. In order to accomplish this, it was necessary: 1) To investigate the possibility the discussion of cultural topics influence and/or collaborate in the development of intercultural competence of the foreign interacting. 2) Search stereotypes manifestations that emerge in the speech of the foreign interacting. 3) Observe the construction and reconstruction of identities in Portuguese Foreign Language learning of the foreign interacting. The theoretical assumptions that guide this work highlight: the intrinsic relationship between language and culture and the importance of this knowledge in learning a language; the concepts of intercultural, multicultural and transcultural in the context of language teaching; and the issue of stereotypes and transient identities, which can be (re)built on language learning

Capaz de possibilitar diversos estudos no âmbito do intercâmbio de informações sobre uma língua estrangeira, a modalidade de ensino e aprendizagem tandem é uma parceria entre pessoas que querem aprender umas com as outras, visto que envolve pares de falantes nativos ou competentes, que entram em contato com o conhecimento alheio, aprendendo a habilidade do parceiro e ao mesmo tempo ajudando o outro a aprender a habilidade em que são proficientes, por meio de sessões bilíngues de conversação (TELLES, 2009). Este estudo observa e apresenta dados coletados a partir de interações em tandem entre uma estudante estrangeira e uma brasileira. O objetivo central de nossa pesquisa é analisar em que medida a modalidade tandem favorece a inclusão de aprendizagem de aspectos culturais de uma língua alvo. A fim de cumprir isso, fez-se necessário: 1) Investigar a possibilidade da discussão de tópicos culturais influenciarem e/ou colaborarem no desenvolvimento da competência intercultural da interagente estrangeira. 2) Pesquisar a manifestação de estereótipos que emergem na fala da interagente estrangeira. 3) Observar a construção e reconstrução de identidades na aprendizagem de PLE da interagente estrangeira. Os pressupostos teóricos que norteiam este trabalho destacam: a relação intrínseca entre língua e cultura; a importância do conhecimento desta última na aprendizagem de línguas; as concepções de interculturalidade, multiculturalidade e transculturalidade no âmbito do ensino de línguas; e a questão dos estereótipos e identidades transitórias (re)construídas diante da aprendizagem de línguas
