Criança feliz: saúde bucal das crianças da creche Santa Clara de Assis

Abstract

Health education is a key element in the development of programs to promote oral health in that it is the process by which children build their understanding of the importance of oral health, and is also promoted the development of the necessary skills so they can achieve and maintain oral health and prevent oral diseases that are more prevalent in this population. The programs developed in schools are based in controlling oral hygiene and diet, and the use of fluorides. The "Happy Child. Oral health of children of kindergarten St. Clare of Assisi "involves undergraduate students, graduate and faculty, FOA-Unesp, integrating the gym to the local community and aims to assist children enrolled in the institution 0-6 years ages, through health education, disease prevention, supervised tooth brushing, training of parents and guardians and training to caregivers and teachers. The partnership of the University with the establishment of Early Childhood Education has provided benefits for both, since enrolled receive specialized attention, and these are involved in the research in health care focused on prevention.

A educação em saúde é um elemento-chave no desenvolvimento dos programas de promoção da saúde bucal. No processo de aprendizagem, as crianças constroem seus conhecimentos sobre saúde bucal, assim como desenvolvemhabilidades necessárias para mantê-la,com o emprego de métodos preventivosdas principais doenças bucais. Os programas de promoção de saúde desenvolvidos em espaços coletivos são fundamentados na aquisição de hábitos saudáveis, na higiene bucal,controle da dieta e utilização de fluoretos. O objetivo nesse trabalho é relatar oprojeto de extensão universitária:“Criança Feliz. Saúde Bucal das crianças da Creche Santa Clara de Assis”. Nesse projeto, que tem como objetivo a atenção à saúde bucal das crianças de 0 a 3 anos de idade, matriculadas na instituição,participam alunos de graduação, pós-graduação e docentes, da FOA-Unesp, integrando a academia à comunidade local.São realizadas ações educativopreventivas com as crianças, tratamento odontológico dos problemas bucais diagnosticados, capacitação dos pais e responsáveis e treinamentos com as cuidadoras e professoras. A parceria da Universidade com a instituição tem proporcionado benefícios para ambos, com a prestação de serviços de saúde, a geração de conhecimento novo e a formação de recursos humanos qualificados.
