Do coronelismo ao neo-coronelismo: um estudo sobre a ascensão, a queda e o ressurgimento de Antônio Lorenzetti Filho

Abstract

Durante um longo período a história dos Municípios brasileiros, especialmente do interior, foi amplamente associada ao patrimonialismo e às práticas políticas tradicionais baseadas no coronelismo. O regime de 1964 é identificado, na literatura contemporânea sobre poder local, como o período que ofereceu sustentáculos para a profissionalização da atividade política na esfera municipal, e, portanto, para a emergência de uma nova elite política local substituta dos “coronéis”. Tendo em vista a reconfiguração do campo de disputa política provocada pelas mudanças econômicas, sociais e institucionais, iniciadas a partir do golpe de 1964, o objetivo desta dissertação é analisar a autoridade política exercida por Antônio Lorenzetti Filho sobre o Município de Lençóis Paulista (S.P). O suporte teórico da pesquisa é a formulação conceitual de “coronelismo” presente na obra de Victor Nunes Leal. E a hipótese a ser testada refere-se à possibilidade de aplicação do conceito “coronelismo” à trajetória política de Lorenzetti principiada em Lençóis Paulista desde as eleições municipais de 1959. Para a materialização do objetivo proposto, realizou-se uma revisão bibliográfica e levantaram-se dados empíricos junto a Biblioteca Municipal e a imprensa lençoiense, entre outras fontes. Esse procedimento permitiu o mapeamento da trajetória política de Lorenzetti e a constatação de que as mudanças promovidas pelo regime militar, sobretudo aquelas de ordem política/institucional, diminuíram seu papel na condução dos rumos da política municipal. Entretanto, ainda que formalmente afastado da política, Lorenzetti manteve determinado controle sobre a esfera política lençoiense até o ano de 2011

During a long period the history of the municipalities Brazilian, especially in the interior, was widely associated with the traditional patrimonialism and policy practices based on the colonels. The 1964 scheme is identified, in the contemporary literature on local government, such as the period which offered pillars for the professionalization of political activity in the municipal sphere, and therefore to the emergence of a new local political elite replacement of coronéis. In view of the reconfiguration of the field of political dispute caused by economic, social and institutional changes initiated from the coup of 1964, the objective of this dissertation is to analyze the political authority exercised by Antônio Lorenzetti Filho about the Town of Lençóis Paulista (SP). The theoretical support of research is the conceptual formulation of coronelismo present in the work of Victor Nunes Leal. And the hypothesis to be tested refers to the possibility of the coronelismo the political trajectory of Lorenzetti started in Lençóis Paulista since the municipal elections of 1959. For the materialization of the proposed objective, we carried out a literature review and empirical data were collected at the Municipal Library and the press lençoiense, among other sources. This procedure allowed the mapping of the political trajectory of Lorenzetti and the finding that the changes promoted by the military regime, especially those of a political/institutional, decreased its role in driving the direction of municipal politics. However, although formally kept away from politics, given control over the Lorenzetti political sphere lençoiense until the year 2011
