Tecnologia assistiva para o ensino de alunos com deficiência: um estudo com professores do ensino fundamental

Abstract

Tecnologia Assistiva tem se consolidado como um campo de estudo direcionado a pessoas com deficiência ou mobilidade reduzida. Engloba os recursos como uma colher adaptada, cadeiras de rodas e softwares para computador e também pode indicar serviços, como intérprete de libras. A Tecnologia Assistiva tem sido utilizada a área educacional com o objetivo principal de auxiliar as pessoas com deficiência, principalmente no processo de inclusão. Nesta pesquisa, objetivou-se identificar, em Escolas Municipais e Estaduais: 1)a presença de recursos de Tecnologia Assistiva para alunos com deficiência física; para alunos cegos ou com baixa visão e alunos surdos ou com deficiência auditiva; 2) o conhecimento dos professores sobre estes recursos e 3) e o manuseio sobre os recursos de Tecnologia Assistiva. Participaram 94 professores oriundos de 15 escolas de uma cidade do interior do Paraná. Os dados foram coletados por meio de um questionário que continha a indicação de 86 recursos de tecnologia assistiva. Os participantes indicaram que sabem utilizar muito pouco os recursos de Tecnologia Assistiva para as diferentes áreas de atendimento aos alunos com deficiência, ficando claro, a necessidade de orientação e preparo para manusear os recursos de Tecnologia Assistiva. Os resultados obtidos apontam que as escolas contam com poucos recursos de Tecnologia Assistiva para o atendimento a alunos com deficiência física, visual ou aditiva e que os alunos usuários desta tecnologia também não possuem tais recursos. Conclui-se, portanto que os recursos de Tecnologia Assistiva destinados aos alunos com deficiência não estão chegando às escolas; que os professores não têm conhecimento dessa tecnologia e que não estão incorporando, no seu cotidiano escolar, os recursos de Tecnologia Assistiva.

The assistive technology has consolidated itself as a wide field of study oriented to the people with disabilities or small mobility. It comprises the resources such as an adapted spoon, wheel chairs and computers software and also it can indicate services, such as libras (Brazilian Sign Language) interpreter. The assistive technology has been used in the educational area with the main aim of helping people with disability, mainly in process of inclusion. In this research, one aimed to identify at regular public municipal and state schools: 1) the presence of the resources of Assistive Technology for students with physical disabilities; for blind students or with little sight, and for deaf students or with auditive disability; 2) the teacher’s knowledge about these resources and 3) if they know how to use the resources of the Assistive Technology. Ninety-four teachers from 15 schools from a city of the countryside of Paraná took part. The data were collected trough a questionnaire that contained the indication of 86 resources of assistive technology. The participants indicated that know how to use very little the resources of the assistive technology toward the different areas of attendance to students with disabilities, staying of course, the necessity of orientation and prepare to use the resources of the assistive technology. The obtained results point that schools count on few resources of the assistive technology to the attendance to students with physical visual or auditive disabilities and that the students who use this technology also do not have these resources. It was concluded, therefore that the resources of the assistive technology destined to students with disabilities are not arriving at schools; that the teachers do not have knowledge of this technology and are not incorporating, in their school everyday, their resources of the assistive technology.
