O ensino de matemática na escola Industrial de Cuiabá/MT no período de 1942 e 1968

Abstract

Investigamos o desenvolvimento do ensino de matemática na Escola Industrial de Cuiabá/MT (EIC), atual Instituto Federal de Mato Grosso (IFMT), no período de 1942 a 1968. Em 1909 foi criada a Escola de Aprendizes Artífices de Mato Grosso (EAAMT) com a finalidade de formar artesãos, em 1942, como consequência de um movimento nacional que redefiniu os caminhos do ensino profissional, tornou-se a Escola Industrial de Cuiabá com a finalidade de formar trabalhadores para a indústria. Consideramos os contextos sociais, políticos e econômicos que influenciaram a organização dessa modalidade de ensino. Diferentes fontes impressas, orais e imagéticas foram utilizadas na pesquisa com o intuito de compreender a estrutura curricular e descrever os possíveis conteúdos ministrados no ensino de matemática e ensino de desenho, e a relação desses nas práticas de oficinas da Escola Industrial de Cuiabá

We investigated the development of mathematics teaching at the Escola Industrial de Cuiabá/MT (EIC) – now referred to as Instituto Federal do Mato Grosso (IFMT) - in the period 1942 to 1968. In 1909 was created the Escola de Aprendizes e Artífices de Mato Grosso (EAAMT) in order to train artisans, in 1942, as a result of a national movement that redefined the paths of vocational education, became the Escola Industrial de Cuiabá for the purpose of training workers for industry. We consider the social, political and economic factors that influenced the organization of this type of education. Different printed, oral and image sources were used in research in order to understand the curricular structure and to describe the possible contents taught in mathematics teaching and design teaching, and the relation of them in the practical workshops of Escola Industrial de Cuiabá
