A relação com os saberes da educação física: os pontos de vista dos alunos jovens em relação à disciplina educação física em uma escola pública federal

Abstract

A presente pesquisa, desenvolvida junto ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Faculdade de Ciências – UNESP, campus de Presidente Prudente, vincula-se à linha Práticas e Processos Formativos em Educação. O problema de pesquisa foi delimitado a partir da constatação de que há uma avaliação parcialmente negativa dos alunos jovens em relação às aulas de Educação Física, o que tem gerado desinteresse e exclusão. Contudo, em aparente contradição, inúmeros estudos também mostram que a Educação Física é a disciplina favorita da maioria dos alunos. Tais estudos, com poucas exceções, são meramente descritivos, e falta-lhes um quadro teórico interpretativo mais aprofundado. Por sua vez, esta problemática situa-se no quadro mais amplo da redefinição da Educação Física como campo epistemológico e pedagógico que convergiu, nas tendências mais progressistas, para o entendimento de que há um saber ligado à cultura corporal, e que deve ser oferecido aos alunos, em uma perspectiva crítica. Falta nesse cenário melhor investigar a perspectiva dos alunos: as proposições e as práticas pedagógicas têm levado em conta os anseios, as sugestões e as relações destes alunos com os “saberes” da Educação Física? The present research, developed together with the post graduation program in Education from the Sciences School – UNESP, “Presidente Prudente” Campus, is linked to the research line “Practices and Formative Processes in Education”. The problem of the research was bounded from the statement that there is a partially negative evaluation from the young students in relation to Physical Education classes, which have resulted in lack of interest and exclusion. However, in an apparent contradiction, several studies have also showed that Physical Education is the favorite school subject for the majority of the students. Such studies, with not many exceptions, are merely descriptive, and miss a deeper theoretical interpretative frame. In turn, this problem is placed in a wider frame for the redefinition of Physical Education as an epistemological and pedagogical field that converged, in more progressive trends, to the understanding that there is a knowledge linked to “body culture” which should be offered to students, in a critical perspective. This scenario lacks in a better investigation from the students’ perspective: have the propositions and the pedagogical practices considered their desires, suggestions and their relationship with “knowledge” in Physical Education?
