Intelectualidade e imprensa negra paulista: os casos do Getulino e Progresso (1923-1931)

Abstract

O trabalho tem como objetos de estudo os jornais Getulino e Progresso, dois exemplares da imprensa negra paulista fundados respectivamente nas cidades de Campinas e São Paulo, no transcorrer da década de 1920. O objetivo principal é analisar a participação da intelectualidade ligada a esses periódicos nas discussões vigentes no período e na construção de uma representação capaz de contribuir para a inserção social dos negros no pós-abolição brasileiro. Almeja-se, também, compreender a interação desses indivíduos com a conjuntura político-social formada durante o final do século XIX e início do XX e analisar as formas de abordagem e intervenção em relação aos leitores elaboradas pelos redatores e colaboradores dos jornais

This work aims to study the newspapers Getulino and Progresso, which are part of the black press of state of São Paulo, founded, respectively in Campinas and São Paulo, in the 1920s. This dissertation aims to analyze the intellectuals’ participation linked to these periodicals in the current discussions at that time and in the construction of a representation which can contribute to social inclusion of black people in the post-abolition era. This work also aims to understand these people’s interaction with the political-social fabric formed during the late XIX and early XX, apart from analyzing the forms of approach and intervention related to readers elaborated by editors and collaborator of the newspapers
