Os catadores de materiais recicláveis: trajetórias e travessias

Abstract

Com o advento da globalização, o mundo do trabalho passou por uma série de transformações, marcadas principalmente pelo incentivo à competitividade, pela busca por menores custos de produção bem como o intenso avanço tecnológico. Dentre as conseqüências desse processo observou-se o aumento do desemprego e da inempregabilidade, caracterizando a precarização do trabalho e o crescimento da informalidade. A catação de materiais recicláveis tornou-se uma das alternativas procuradas pelos trabalhadores que não conseguem inserção do mercado de trabalho. Mediante esse cenário, o objetivo geral dessa pesquisa foi conhecer as histórias de vida e de trabalho de catadores de materiais recicláveis que atuam no município de Sumaré, localizado na região metropolitana de Campinas, Estado de São Paulo. Os objetivos específicos foram: Resgatar as trajetórias e travessias da vida, trabalho e saúde dos catadores de materiais recicláveis; Compreender a realidade do cotidiano de trabalho dos catadores por meio de seus discursos; Identificar as condições de trabalho e vida no contexto da catação de materiais recicláveis; Contribuir para as discussões sobre as questões relativas à precarização do trabalho e os impactos à saúde dos trabalhadores nessa realidade.Os dados foram coletados com base na metodologia da Pesquisa Participante tendo como instrumentos a entrevista individual semi-estruturada, o diário de campo e o registro fotográfico. A análise dos dados foi fundamentada na abordagem qualitativa sob o referencial da Psicodinâmica do Trabalho na proposta de Christophe Dejours. With the globalization arrival, the world of labor passed for a succession of transformations that was marked by the stimulating competition looking for the minor prices of produce, as well as the intense technological progress. Among the consequences of this process, it´s possible to observe the growth of the unemployment and of the impossibility of be employed again, what characterize the precariousness of the work and the growing of the informality. The collect of the recyclable materials was turned into one of the most searched alternatives for the workers that can´t be inserted in the labor market. By means of this context, the goal of this research was to know the life and work history of the collectors of the recyclable materials from Sumaré localized at the metropolitan region of Campinas, São Paulo. The specifics objectives were the following: to rescue the courses and crossings of personal, professional, and health life of the recyclable material collectors; To understand the daily reality of these collectors work through their speech; identify the life and work conditions in the recyclable materials collection context; to contribute with the discussion about the precariousness of the work and the impacts on workers health in this reality. The data were collected based on the Participant Research methodology that uses as instruments the individual interview semi-structured, the field diary and the photography register. The data analysis was well-founded on the qualitative approach on the Psychodynamics of Work reference in the proposed of Christophe Dejours.
