Diversidade e distribuição dos anfíbios anuros do núcleo Curucutu, Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar, SP

Abstract

Os anfíbios possuem um ciclo de vida complexo envolvendo em geral uma fase larval aquática, onde a respiração é realizada através de brânquias. Ao se desenvolverem, estes passam a ocupar o ambiente terrestre e a respirar através da pele, que é permeável e em geral úmida e desprotegida, e pelos pulmões. Estas características tornam os anfíbios extremamente sensíveis a alterações ambientais, que na maioria das vezes são causadas por atividades humanas. Em função destas vulnerabilidades, os anfíbios são considerados os vertebrados mais ameaçados do mundo. Este estudo teve como objetivo investigar a diversidade e a distribuição dos anfíbios anuros em um mosaico de fisionomias florestais e campestres no Núcleo Curucutu do Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar, uma das regiões menos conhecidas e estudadas do estado de São Paulo, a partir de dois capítulos. O primeiro abordou a composição de espécies, a diversidade, a distribuição e os padrões de co-ocorrência dos anuros. Detectamos que a área estudada possui uma das maiores riquezas do estado de São Paulo, e que a maioria das espécies é endêmica da Mata Atlântica. Também observamos que a riqueza e a abundância de espécies variou de acordo com a fisionomia. A análise de co-ocorrência detectou um padrão estruturado para as comunidades, na forma de tabuleiro de xadrez, indicando que as diferentes fisionomias ou suas características físicas podem influir na distribuição das espécies de anuros de acordo com suas histórias de vida. The amphibians have a complex life cycle involving in general a larval aquatic phase, in which the breathing is done through the gill. As they grow, they start to occupy the terrestrial environment and to breathe through the skin, which is permeable and in general humid and unprotected, and by lungs. These characteristics make the amphibians extremely sensitive to environmental changes that most of the times are caused by human activities. Duo to these vulnerabilities, the amphibians are nowadays considered the most endangered vertebrates in the world. This study had as its objectives research the diversity and the distribution of the amphibians anurans in a mosaic of forest and natural fields physiognomies in the Núcleo Curucutu do Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar, one of the least known region of the state of São Paulo, from two chapters. The first one approached the composition of the species, the diversity, the distribution and the co-occurrence patterns of amphibians. We have detected that the studied area is endemic of the Atlantic Forest. We have also observed that the richness and the abundance of species varied according to the physiognomy. The analyses of co-occurrence detected a structured pattern to the communities, in the shape of a checkerboard units, indicating that the different physiognomies and its physical characteristics can have an influence in the distribution of the anurans species according to its life histories.
