O ensino das formas de tratamento e de cortesia nos manuais de português língua não materna (PLNM) usados em França

Abstract

As formas de tratamento e de cortesia 1 são meios privilegiados na interação, quer oral, quer na escrita, pelo que a sua aprendizagem necessita ser corretamente interiorizada, desde os mais elementares níveis de aprendizagem de uma língua. No âmbito do nosso desempenho docente de Português Língua Não Materna (PLNM) ao longo dos anos constatámos que os manuais para o ensino do PLNM usados em França nem sempre abordavam explicitamente o tema, sendo difícil sistematizar algumas regras elementares e perceber o funcionamento linguístico de algumas formas. A pertinência deste estudo relaciona-se com uma crescente procura da aprendizagem do Português que se tem vindo a verificar nos últimos anos. Assim e mais detalhadamente, este estudo começa por fazer uma abordagem teórica de sistematização dos principais contributos no âmbito do sistema de tratamento e de cortesia em português europeu, que é apresentado por ordem cronológica do surgimento dos trabalhos, ensaiando conjugar quer os contributos de investigadores portugueses, quer as principais teorias da face e da delicadeza que os inspiraram. A seguir apresenta-se a metodologia: procedeu-se a uma escolha de cinco manuais de Português Língua Não Materna (PLNM) adotados em França e neles procedemos ao levantamento exaustivo das estratégias descritas e sugeridas para o ensino das formas de tratamento e das formas de cortesia nas aulas de Português Língua Não Materna (PLNM). O cerne do nosso estudo concerne a análise do corpus, resultante da seleção anterior, evidenciando as fragilidades de alguns pressupostos enunciados e sugerindo formas de abordagem enunciativo-pragmática mais produtivas. Para finalizar é apresentada uma proposta de uma unidade didática para alunos com nível de proficiência linguística (nível A1 e A2) para a lecionação dos conteúdos em análise, em que são traçados os objetivos e sugeridos alguns exercícios de aplicação diferenciados.

Adress’s forms and polite forms are privileged means of oral as well as written interaction. Therefore, when learning a language, they need to be correctly grasped from the most elementary levels. While teaching Portuguese as a Non-Native Language (PLNM) throughout the years, we ascertained that the textbooks that teach Portuguese as a Non-Native Language used in France did not always explicitly address this subject. This made it difficult to systematize some elementary rules and understand how some of the forms work linguistically, namely within different social contexts. The pertinence of this study is related to the growing demand to learn Portuguese that has taken place over the last few years. Thus, in greater detail, this study begins with a theoretical approach systematizing the main contributions within the scope of the forms of address and polite forms in European Portuguese. These are presented in chronological order as the work arises, testing in conjugation both the contributions of Portuguese researchers, as well as the main theories as to the facet and delicateness that inspire them. Next, we present the methodology: five textbooks for Portuguese as a Non-Native Language (PLNM) adopted in France were selected and the strategies described and suggested therein to teach the forms of address and polite forms in Portuguese as a Non-Native Language (PLNM) classes were analysed comprehensively. The aim of our study consists in analysing the corpus resulting from the previously mentioned selection, showing the frailties of some of the enunciated assumptions and suggesting more productive enunciative and pragmatic forms of approach. Lastly, a teaching unit is proposed for students with a particular level of language proficiency (level A1 and A2), where the contents under analysis would be taught. This proposal outlines objectives and suggests some different exercises.
