Literatura e emigração : olhares cruzados (Nita Clímaco, Assis Esperança, Olga Gonçalves e Amândio Sousa Dantas) : estudo comparatista para utilização desta temática no ensino secundário

Abstract

O principal objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar uma análise da temática da emigração nas obras de quatro autores que se mantêm afastados dos programas curriculares: António Assis Esperança, com Fronteiras, Nita Clímaco, com A salto, Olga Gonçalves, com Este verão o emigrante là-bas e Amândio Sousa Dantas com Poesia da emigração. Numa primeira parte são definidas as noções de Literatura, História, Ficção e Contexto histórico e explicitadas as relações existentes entre conceitos. A segunda parte aborda a Imagologia enquanto teoria satélite da disciplina de Literatura Comparada. Neste âmbito, apresenta brevemente as várias tendências comparatistas e detém-se nas noções de ficcionalidade, teoria da receção e intertextualidade. Define e estabelece distinções entre Tema e Motivo, e por fim propõe uma abordagem comparativa dos temas: “Representações do Feminino” e “Imagem do Estrangeiro”. Na terceira parte, recorrendo à metodologia comparatista foi realizada uma análise transversal dos motivos: “Retrato de um país – Portugal nas décadas de 1960 - 1980”, “A Emigração”, “ A Viagem – o Salto”, “O choque cultural e linguístico” e “ A Saudade”. Todas as abordagens dos temas e dos motivos iniciam com uma apresentação teórica, resultado das leituras feitas ao longo da investigação. Por fim, o último capítulo expõe algumas propostas para o tratamento das obras e da temática nas aulas de Português no ensino secundário, para um trabalho interdisciplinar com História e um Projeto de Turma envolvendo as restantes disciplinas.

The main objective of this dissertation is to examine the theme of emigration in the works of four authors that are not typically used in curricular programmes: Fronteiras by António Assis Esperança, A salto by Nita Clímaco, Este verão o emigrante là-bas by Olga Gonçalves and Poesia da emigração by Amândio Sousa Dantas. In the first part, the concepts of Literature, History, Fiction and Historical Context are defined and the relationship between them is explained. The second part discusses Imagology as a distinct subject within the theory of Comparative Literature. Within this framework, it briefly presents the various comparative trends and focuses on the concepts of fictionality, reception theory and intertextuality. It defines and establishes distinctions between Theme and Motif, and finally attempts to compare the subjects of “The Portrayal of Women” and “The Portrayal of Foreigner”. In the third part, using the comparative method, a cross-sectional analysis of the motifs: “Portrait of a country – Portugal in 1960-1980”, “Emigration”, “The Journey – O Salto”, “The cultural and linguistic shock” and “Nostalgia” is made. All the approaches to the themes and motifs begin with a theoretical presentation. Finally, the last chapter presents some proposals to approach the works in teaching Portuguese in Secondary Education, as interdisciplinary subject matter aligned with History, and as a Class Project involving other disciplines.
