Inserção laboral dos migrantes portugueses com formação profissional no mercado de trabalho de Benguela

Abstract

O fim da guerra civil em Angola em 2002 e a grave crise económica que afeta Portugal desde meados da primeira década do século XXI, contribuíram de forma determinante para o aumento dos movimentos migratórios deste país europeu com destino à sua ex-colónia. A intensificação da migração portuguesa para Angola nos anos subsequentes, levou a que os portugueses constituam atualmente uma das comunidades imigrantes mais numerosas radicadas no País, tendo a sua presença repercussões importantes nas esferas económica, política, social e cultural deste Estado africano. O presente estudo tem por objetivo analisar e avaliar a inserção laboral dos migrantes portugueses com formação profissional no mercado de trabalho de Benguela, a partir da caracterização do seu percurso e situação laborais. A pesquisa realizada no sentido de alcançar esse propósito é claramente exploratória e abrangeu 20 portugueses a trabalhar para diversas entidades empregadoras e em diferentes setores de atividade. A estratégia metodológica adotada nesta investigação é de natureza essencialmente quantitativa, embora a mesma tenha abordado alguns aspetos de índole qualitativa. O estudo foi realizado através de inquérito por questionário, aplicado presencialmente, tendo os dados recolhidos sido sujeitos a análise estatística. Os resultados obtidos na pesquisa realizada permitem concluir que dado o enquadramento organizacional e contratual destes trabalhadores portugueses, a função e a posição complementar que detêm no mercado de trabalho em Benguela, a sua inserção laboral é, de um modo geral, bastante satisfatória.

The end of the civil war in Angola in 2002 and the severe economic crisis affecting Portugal since the middle of the first decade of this century, contributed decisively to the increase in migratory movements of this European country for its former colony. The intensification of the Portuguese migration to Angola in subsequent years, led to the Portuguese currently constitute one of the largest immigrant communities rooted in the country, and their presence important repercussions in the economic, political, social and cultural of this African state. This study aims to analyze and evaluate the employability of Portuguese migrants with training in Benguela labor market, from the characterization of his journey and labor situation. The research carried out in order to achieve this purpose is clearly exploratory and covered 20 Portuguese working for different employers and different sectors of activity. The methodological strategy adopted in this research is essentially quantitative, although it has addressed some aspects of qualitative nature. The study was conducted by questionnaire survey applied in person and the data collected were subjected to statistical analysis. The results of the survey can be concluded that given the organizational and contractual framework of these Portuguese workers, the function and the complementary position on the labor market in Benguela, their labor insertion is, in general, quite satisfactory.
