Propostas alternativas de educação no Concelho de Alenquer : PIEF e Curso Vocacional

Abstract

A presente dissertação foi realizada no âmbito do 14.º Mestrado em Administração e Gestão Educacional, foi a consequência do trabalho de pesquisa realizado nos Agrupamentos de Escolas da Abrigada e do Carregado, do Concelho de Alenquer. A investigação centra-se em saber se os alunos que frequentam as ofertas educativas, Curso Vocacional e o Programa Integrado de Educação e Formação, valorizam a oportunidade dada para completarem o ensino básico. Procura-se indagar, as razões que os levaram a optar por estas ofertas educativas, as relações pedagógicas e interação com a comunidade escolar, o porquê do insucesso e abandono escolar. Para o efeito, este estudo empírico apresenta-se em formato de um estudo de caso e nas suas opções metodológicas, aplica-se o questionário por inquérito e entrevista. Os questionários por inquéritos foram elaborados e aplicados aos alunos e aos docentes dos conselhos de turma. Quanto às entrevistas foram destinadas aos Diretores dos Agrupamentos de Escolas, aos Diretores de Turma e à Técnica de Intervenção Local. Com esta metodologia tenta-se dar voz a todos os intervenientes no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Na revisão da literatura, aborda-se a temática da massificação do ensino e a sua relação com o aumento do insucesso escolar e consequente abandono. Reflete-se sobre a escola inclusiva ou integradora, assim como a importância das qualificações escolares no mercado de emprego. O estudo tenta abarcar todas as visões que estão ligadas a estas ofertas, dá-se voz aos professores e alunos na tentativa de cumprir o objetivo proposto para a investigação. Com os resultados alcançados, esperamos ter um melhor conhecimento dos alunos e limar algumas arestas para podermos ter sucesso educativo e caminharmos para uma “escola inclusiva”.

The present dissertation, written within the 14th Masters Degree in Administration and Educational Management, is the result of a research work, carried out in schools from the county of Alenquer, namely Agrupamento de Escolas de Abrigada e do Carregado. This investigation focuses on finding out if the students that attend these educational offerings – Vocational Course and Integrated Program of Education and Training – value this opportunity of completing their basic education. This work tries to find out the reasons why students have chosen these offerings, the pedagogical relations and interaction with the school community, the reasons for not having been successful in school... Therefore, this empiric study is presented through a case study and its methodological options, having surveys and interviews as a work basis. The referred surveys have been applied to the students and their teachers. The interviews have been intended for the Headmasters of the schools, the class directors, the teachers of these classes and the Local Intervention Technician. This methodology was issued with the intention of giving voice to all the participants of the teaching-learning process. Having revised literature on the matter, the theme of teaching massification was addressed, along with its relation to the increase of school failure and, consequent abandonment. In this work, the inclusive-integrating school is reflected on, as well as the importance of school qualifications in the global job market. This study covers the approach of all the visions that are linked to these offers. Here, teachers and students are given voice, trying to meet the initial goal of this investigation. With the results that have been reached, we hope to have a better knowledge of our students and overcome the problems we encounter, so as to promote educational success by taking a step forward towards an inclusive school.
