Tumblrs fotográficos como lugares de memória: a profanação do acontecimento e a lógica de arquivo

Abstract

From the assumption that digital photography not only opened new photographic practices, but also formulated new forms of image appropriations, including how photos are linked to our collective memory, this paper aims to study the Tumblrs pages that use historic photographs in its compositions. From the notion that the archives are an opening to the public space and a place of symbolic assignment, we will discuss the notion that the function of these photographs suffers a displacement that gives priority to the file itself as an object of interest over the event alluded. In other words, it is the file that becomes the object of the representation of a place of memory.

A partir do pressuposto de que a fotografia digital não só inaugurou novas práticas fotográficas, como também novas formas de apropriação da imagem, inclusive no que diz respeito ao modo como as fotografias se ligam à nossa memória coletiva, o presente artigo tem como objetivo estudar as páginas de Tumblrs que utilizam fotografias históricas em suas composições. A partir da noção de que o arquivo se constitui, ao mesmo tempo, como uma abertura ao espaço público e como lugar de consignaçãosimbólica, discutiremos a noção de que a função dessas fotografias sofreum deslocamento que dá prioridade para o próprio arquivo enquanto objeto de interesse fetichizado em detrimento do acontecimento aludido. Em outros termos, é o próprio arquivo que se torna objeto da representação de um lugar de memória.
